Our Mission

Davidson UMC Preschool will be the Body of Christ in our community through worship, education, fellowship, and service. 

Davidson UMC Preschool is an outreach ministry of Davidson United Methodist Church. We are guided in our work with children by the belief that each child is a unique gift of God, worthy of love, respect, and encouragement. We offer a play-based, faith-based curriculum that encourages each child to explore the world around them. 

We believe that children thrive in an environment that values their own uniqueness, while providing support and opportunities to grow emotionally, socially, and creatively. By building on each child’s strengths, interests and curiosities, we guide each child to explore the world around them as well as develop new abilities and form close relationships.

Our School Day

Davidson UMC Preschool operates on a half-day schedule, with lunch included as part of the daily routine.

We generally follow the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School calendar for holidays, inclement weather, and school closures.

The 2025-26 school year starts September 2, 2025, and ends on May 22, 2026.

Health & Safety

The health and safety of our children is our number one priority during the school day.

Our staff and building are equipped with various safety programs and training, including but not limited to:

  • Building Security System

  • Criminal Background Screening 

  • CPR, AED, and First Aid Certified

  • Safe Sanctuary Policy training

  • Fire Evacuation and Emergency Procedure Plans

  • Two teachers in every classroom
