Worship means to “give worth to something.” At DUMC, we consider worship to be the hub of the wheel from which everything else gains significance and worth.
We offer three Sunday morning worship services - 8:00, 9:30, and 11:00 a.m. In these services, we honor the traditional liturgy of the church. While the template and style of worship remains formal, we also make sure that the words and music have life and relevance to them. We link the “old, old story” to the present day stories that we are living.
The sacrament of Holy Communion is always celebrated at our 8:00 a.m. service and is part of our 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. worship on the first Sunday of the month. Click here for information on childcare and Sunday School. During the 11:00 hour, children in Grades K-5 are invited to participate in their own lively worship experience, Jesus the Rock “LIVE!”, on all but the first Sunday of each month during the school year in the Chapel across the street.
In addition to these worship opportunities, we offer a fourth worship service on Saturday evenings. "Come as you are" to the Chapel at 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays. Dress is casual and the music primarily acoustic. Childcare is available in the adjacent Molly McKay House for children four years and younger; all others are encouraged to worship together as a family. A table is available with activities for children who prefer to color, etc. Holy Communion is served the first Sunday of each month at the Saturday service.
