Young Adults

Associate Pastor for College Students and Young Adults:  Rev. Sarah Belles.

Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?
– Mary Oliver, “The Summer Day”

We believe authentic Christian living happens in community, and genuine community transforms lives.  In community, we discover the presence of Christ.  We hope through our young adult ministry you’ll discover earnest community - a place to belong, to ask deep questions, to know the presence of the Holy Spirit, and to grow in your relationship with God.

DUMC offers a variety of opportunities for young adults, ages 18-35, to connect and grow in community.  We all bring a different story and find ourselves in a different place in our journey.  Whether you wear a ring or not, whether it’s complicated or you are chasing children, we hope you will sojourn with us.  Let’s breathe deeply and live fully together.

Young Adults

Looking for community or a place to belong?  There are a number of 20-somethings in the area trying to navigate this transitional phase of life - looking for work, finishing school, beginning a career, or starting a family of their own.  We gather each week from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at Rev. Belles’ parsonage for discussion on how to live more fully and deeply.  Contact Rev. Sarah Belles if you are interested or have questions.

Young Families Wednesday Night Group

Wednesdays 6:30-7:30 p.m. in Room 216/218.  Childcare is provided. This group meets as a large group and also breaks out into smaller groups for discussion on varying topics from faith and life to Scripture.  Whether you are married or single, with or without children, you are welcome!

Young Families Sunday School Class

This class is for people with and without children to learn about Scripture and its daily application to Christian living, to engage in intentional discussion with others, to develop convictions, and to provide an outlet for fellowship with others in a similar stage of life.  We meet all but the first Sunday of each month in Room 211 at 9:30 a.m.  The first Sunday of each month, we attend the 9:30 a.m. worship service together.  We also gather beyond Sunday mornings for socials to grow into deeper community.
